New York - Wenner Media, the publisher of titles including Rolling Stone and Us Weekly, plans to take control of its flagship RollingStone.com website back from RealNetworks (NASD: RNWK), which has operated the site for the past ten years, according to Mediaweek.

Rolling Stone Teams With 505 Games on "Drum King" Game

Los Angeles - Rolling Stone magazine has partnered with "Cooking Mama" game developer 505 Games on a new music-based title called "Drum King," Variety reports. The Wii game will be promoted by Rolling Stone both in print and online, as well as on radio and at sponsored events.

Rolling Stone Posts Digital Issue With Rhapsody Links

New York - Rolling Stone magazine has posted a digital version of the entire last issue of its 40th Anniversary series online, complete with links inside the editorial content to RealNetworks' (NASD: RNWK) Rhapsody digital music service. The full-issue digital version is a first for the magazine, and will remain available for the next two weeks.

Bondi Digital Publishing to Digitize Rolling Stone Archives on DVD

New York - Bondi Digital Publishing, a provider of digital magazine archive products, announced on Friday that it will convert the entire printed history of Wenner Media's Rolling Stone magazine to digital format for release on DVD. Slated for release in the fall of 2007, "Rolling Stone Cover-to-Cover: The First 40 Years" will include over 125,000 pages from more than 1,000 back issues.

Rolling Stone cover Last week a New York University blog wrote that Rolling Stone Magazine has begun plans for a social networking site.  No formal announcements were made, though Keith Blanchard, executive director for online media at RS’s parent company, Wenner Media, mentioned the strategy during a speech at NYU.  Blanchard discussed the site following an informal poll of the audience that revealed only one student had visited Rolling Stone’s website.

New York - Rolling Stone magazine plans to launch its own online social network, a separate site that will offer the standard profiles along with the ability to vote on the magazine's "Best of" lists.
