Web Video Firm ROO to Offer P2P Delivery via Abacast, Pando

New York - ROO Group, a provider of Web video and advertising distribution services, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with Abacast and Pando Networks, to offer peer-to-peer streaming services to its customers. Abacast and Pando will work to integrate their technologies -- which count a combined 62 million users -- into the ROO Media Player, which may then be offered as white-label services to ROO customers.

ROO Group Inc., a provider of online video solutions for content owners, advertisers and Web sites, today announced the appointment of Simon Bax, Stephen Palley, and Scott Ackerman to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The additions increase the size of ROO's Board to six members, including four independent directors. The new board members join current members Robert Petty, Chairman and CEO, ROO Group; Robin Smyth, Executive Director, ROO Group and Doug Chertok, an independent director.

New York - ROO, a provider of Internet video broadcast technology, announced on Friday that it has partnered with U.K. tabloid newspaper The Sun to launch a new online TV service. TheSun.co.uk will offer Sun content such as "Dear Deirdre" columns repurposed with video, and entertainment and news video.

New York - Online video delivery provider ROO announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to deliver online video for the Citadel Broadcasting Company, which owns 222 radio stations in 49 U.S. markets.
