Reznor Talks "Niggy Tardust" Sales Data; Favors ISP Tax

San Francisco - After revealing that just one in five consumers chose to pay $5 for a 320kbps MP3 version of Saul Williams' "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust" album, rather than downloading a free, 192kpbs version, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor expressed mixed feelings on the numbers in an interview with CNET News.com posted on Thursday.

Saul Williams Offers New Album as Free (or $5) Download

New York - Independent record label The Fader, part of Fader Magazine, announced on Thursday that its roster artist Saul Williams has released his new album exclusively as a download, which is available either completely for free, or with a $5 contribution to support the artist. Downloads of "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust," which was produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, will be powered by Musicane and made available in three download formats: 192kbit/s MP3, 320kbit/s MP3 and Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC). All versions will also include a PDF with artwork and lyrics.
