Report: Web Radio Music Listening Up 37.6% in 2008

Marina, Calif. - Listening to Web radio music stations increased by 37.6% in 2008, to 6.67 billion hours, and in-stream audio sold against ad-supported cumulative listening hours was up 46% to $74 million, according to a report from AccuStream iMedia Research.

AOL to Launch Shoutcast Upgrade Next Week

Los Angeles - AOL will re-launch its Shoutcast network of online radio stations next week, adding features including increased monetization, a Facebook application, and widgets that allow embedding on other social sites like Bebo, Hypebot reported. The update is part of a plan to expand tools for third-party developers on Shoutcast, which claims 500,000 daily listeners.
