Rapper 50 Cent to Reprise Role in Video Game Sequel

Los Angeles - Vivendi's Sierra Entertainment said on Thursday that rapper 50 Cent will reprise his starring role in a video game sequel, "50 Cent: Blood on the Sand," set for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the fall. The console version of the follow-up to the multi-million unit-selling "50 Cent: Bulletproof" is being developed by Swordfish Studios. Vivendi Games Mobile will also release a mobile version.

Yahoo to Stream Concert of Oakenfold's "Bourne" Game Score

Los Angeles - Vivendi Games' Sierra Entertainment announced on Monday that it partnered with Yahoo to host a world premiere concert of the Paul Oakenfold-composed score to its upcoming game "The Bourne Conspiracy" at the 2008 Winter Music Conference. The concert, which will be webcast by Yahoo, will feature Oakenfold and members of the Florida Classical Symphony, as well as a special performance by Cee-Lo Green.

Sierra Ships Game Based on "The Spiderwick Chronicles"

Los Angeles - Vivendi Games' Sierra Entertainment studio on Tuesday released its "The Spiderwick Chronicles" game, based on the upcoming Paramount Pictures film and popular books. The title was developed by Stormfront Studios for Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, DS, PC and mobile phones.

Sierra to Publish PSP-Exclusive Title for New "Aliens/Predator" Movie

Los Angeles - Vivendi's Sierra Entertainment game publishing label announced on Tuesday that it plans to publish a game based on the new Aliens/Predator film from 20th Century Fox exclusively for the Sony PSP handheld. The PSP game is being developed by Rebellion, which also created the "Aliens vs. Predator" PC game. The new film in the franchise is slated for release on Dec. 25.

Los Angeles - Vivendi's Sierra Entertainment announced on Thursday that it will publish "The Spiderwick Chronicles," a game based on the best-selling book series and forthcoming film from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Films. The title is currently in development at Stormfront Studios for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and the PC for release in February 2008.

Sierra to Publish "Scarface: The World Is Yours" for Nintendo Wii

Los Angeles - Vivendi Games' Sierra Entertainment said on Friday that it will publish a version of "Scarface: The World Is Yours," based on the classic Universal Pictures gangster film, for the Nintendo Wii this summer. The company said it has already sold 1.5 million units of the title worldwide on other platforms.

Los Angeles - Vivendi Games Mobile on Wednesday announced the roster of mobile game titles it plans to release in the first half of 2007, including several based on Sierra Entertainment games. The lineup includes "The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning"; "Surviving High School '07"; "Crash Bandicoot Party Games"; "People's Choice Hangman"; "M.A.C.H. Air Combat"; "The Incredible Machine"; and "Shock Blocks."

Los Angeles - Video game publisher Sierra Entertainment, a unit of Vivendi Games, announced on Friday that it has signed a development agreement with Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Spark Unlimited ("Call of Duty: Finest Hour") to create an action game for next-generation consoles. The companies said the title is expected to ship in 2007.

Los Angeles - Vivendi Universal Games' Sierra Entertainment game publishing studio said it has shipped "Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy" to retailers. The expansion pack for the PC game was developed by Mad Doc Software. Sierra also announced that its "Empire Earth Mobile" game is now available for GSM, Sprint and BREW handsets.
