Chinese Games Firm Shanda Sells Partial SINA Stake for $129.6 Million

Shanghai, China - Shanda Interactive Entertainment, a provider of multiplayer, casual and PC games and other media content in China, announced on Thursday that it has sold part of its stake in Chinese Web portal SINA to Citigroup for about $129.6 million.

Shanghai, China - Chinese online game publisher Shanda Interactive Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it will sell part of its stake in Chinese Web portal SINA to Citigroup Global Markets for $99.1 million.

U.K. Indie Labels License Music to China's SINA.com

London - The U.K. Association of Independent Music (AIM), a collection of independent record labels, has signed an online distribution agreement with Chinese Web portal SINA.com, the BBC Online reported. The deal -- which will bring no profits to the labels -- will make free streaming music and music video clips available to SINA.com visitors. AIM told the BBC it plans to vet all tracks offered for sex and drug references.
