Sony to Publish ABBA Version of "SingStar" Karaoke Game

London - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (NYSE: SNE) announced it has partnered with Universal Music Group to release a version of its "SingStar" karaoke game for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 that features Swedish pop band ABBA. The game represents the first artist-branded iteration of "SingStar," which to date has sold more than 13 million units and generated sales of more than 2 million downloadable tracks from the online SingStore.

Sony Ships "SingStar Pop" Karaoke Game for PlayStation 2

Foster City, Calif. - Sony Computer Entertainment America on Tuesday shipped its "SingStar Pop" karaoke-style singing game for PlayStation 2 to retailers. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's London Studio, the sequel to "SingStar Rocks" lets players sing along to 30 actual music videos from artists including Destiny's Child, A-Ha, U2, James Blunt, Franz Ferdinand and Whitney Houston. The game also incorporates the PlayStation 2's EyeToy USB camera accessory to allow users to watch and record themselves performing.
