Hong Kong - Warner Music International has partnered with South Korean telco SK Telecom to form a new joint venture that will distribute music from Warner's Korean artists both online and to mobile phones in Korea. Warner will have majority ownership of WS Entertainment, which will be funded by $8.6 million from Warner Music Korea and SK Telecom's Seoul Records, as well as the SK-KTB Music Investment Fund. "Today's first-of-its-kind agreement with SK Telecom, one of the world's most technologically advanced media distributors, is part of Warner Music's broader strategy to partner with a wide array of innovative companies to sign, develop and distribute music-based content," said Alex Zubillaga, executive vice president of digital strategy and business development at Warner Music Group.
