Ice Cube Debuts Web TV Site, Social Network UVNTV.com

New York - Hip-hop artist Ice Cube and partner DJ Pooh on Tuesday announced the launch of UVNTV.com (U View Network Television), a broadband television site and social network. The beta version of the service, which uses Microsoft's Silverlight video distribution platform, features channels such as Ice Cube's Hip Hop 24/7 TV, Snoop Dogg's Snoopadelic TV, and fashion designer Christian Audigier's Live TV.

9 Squared Adds Snoop Dogg to Celebrity Text Message Service

Denver, Colo. - Mobile media distributor 9 Squared, a unit of U.K.-based Monstermob, on Friday announced the launch of a celebrity text message service featuring hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg. The service will deliver three text messages weekly, and is available to Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile and Alltel subscribers. Other celebrities featured on The In Crowd service include Xzibit, Andy Milonakis and John Salley.

Snoop Dogg, Global Gaming League Launch Hip Hop Gaming League

Santa Monica, Calif. - The Global Gaming League, a producer of video game tournaments, announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement with hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg, to create a Hip Hop Gaming League. Snoop will serve as the first commissioner for the league, which has so far signed on performers including Method Man, BReal, Proof and Krayzie Bone, and pro athletes Jalen Rose and Cobi Jones. The league's players will be equipped with custom Xbox 360 consoles, and all competition will take place on the Xbox Live online gaming service. League matches will begin this month, and conclude in May with a live finals event held in Las Vegas -- with Snoop's youth football league receiving a substantial donation on the champion's behalf.

Snoop Dogg Named Executive Producer of Hip-Hop for XM Radio

New York - XM Satellite Radio, a subscription radio service with 5 million subscribers, said on Thursday that it has named hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg as executive producer for its hip-hop channel, The Rhyme. The rapper already hosts a weekly radio show on XM, and will now provide creative direction and develop new hip-hop programming for the company.
