Sunnyvale, Calif. - Social music discovery service Social.FM announced on Wednesday the release of a Facebook application that automatically scans users' profiles and creates an online radio player featuring full-length tracks from their favorite artists. The application also allows Facebook's 52 million users to access the complete music libraries on their PCs directly from their Facebook profiles. Sunnyvale, Calif. - Online music service Mercora, which lets users create their own Internet radio stations, said on Wednesday that it has launched a new service and changed its corporate name to Social.FM. The company said that it has launched free beta versions of its products, including Social.FM Web, a social network revolving around music; Social.FM Desktop, a social media application that allows users to broadcast their favorite artists and playlists; and Social.FM Network, a distributed content delivery network that encodes and streams media in multiple formats to fixed and wireless networks.
