iTunes Store Back Online in China; Pro-Tibet Album Blocked

San Francisco - Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iTunes Store is now available once again in China, although the pro-Tibet album that was the reported cause of the store's being blocked by Chinese censors remains unavailable in the country, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

London - China has been blocking its citizens' access to Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iTunes Store as of Monday, after it was found that some 40 athletes in the Olympic Village downloaded a "Songs for Tibet" protest compilation, Guardian.co.uk reported, citing a report on the state-sponsored China.org.cn.

INgrooves to Distribute "Songs for Tibet" Benefit Album

San Francisco - Digital music distributor INgrooves announced on Tuesday the release of "Songs For Tibet" through The Art of Peace Foundation, a benefit compilation in support of the Dalai Lama that features tracks from Sting, Dave Matthews, Alanis Morissette, John Mayer, Rush, Garbage, Moby, Underworld and others. The album is available through iTunes and the Art of Peace website today, and will be released as a physical CD on Aug. 12.
