New York - Live Gamer, an online platform for real-money trading of virtual property in massively multiplayer online games and virtual worlds, on Monday debuted its service and announced $24 million in venture capital financing from Charles River Ventures, Kodiak Venture Partners and Pequot Ventures.

San Diego - Sony Online Entertainment said on Thursday that it has partnered with Sir Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra's Virgin Comics, to create a massively multiplayer online game based on "Ramayan 3392 A.D.," a title based on India's mythology. The multi-year, worldwide deal will see Sony develop and publish the game with help from Virgin Comics president Suresh Seetharaman, and co-founder and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.
