Venice, Calif. - JibJab, a producer of digital parody cartoons, will continue to turn out its popular political spoofs after landing $7.5 million in its third round of funding.

Culver City, Calif. - Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Entertainment on Wednesday named Eric Berger, currently its senior vice president of digital networks, to head Crackle, the company's online video network. Berger, who also manages operations for Sony's Minisode Network, the Vault and PIX, will oversee content development and programming, marketing and distribution for Crackle.

Sony's Crackle Video Site Launches Moving Targets Comedy Channel

Sausalito, Calif. - Crackle, a video entertainment site from Sony Pictures Entertainment (formerly known as Grouper), on Monday announced the launch of Moving Targets, a new channel that will focus on sketch comedy, digital shorts and animation. Contributors to the channel will include professional producers like Jerry Zucker ("Airplane!," "The Naked Gun"), Starz and animator Jennifer Shiman, comedy writer Brian Dalton (Mr. Deity), and will also solicit submissions from emerging talent.

GSN President and CEO Rich Cronin said Tuesday that he is departing the network at the end of the month, but did not give a reason why. While Cronin under his six years with the network led a team that pioneered interactive television games and expanded its distribution from 31 million to 64 million homes, the channel still suffers from a bit of an identity crises.
