The Orchard to Distribute Digital Scores, Soundtracks for Lionsgate

New York - The Orchard, a provider of digital distribution and marketing services for independent music, announced on Monday an agreement with indie film studio Lionsgate, to digitally market and distribute soundtracks and scores from the company's library of movies and TV shows. Among the releases to be offered through The Orchard are the soundtracks to the film "Employee of the Month" and TV series "Weeds."

2K Sports Releases "NHL 2K7" for PS2, Soundtrack for "NBA 2K7"

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, on Tuesday shipped its "NHL 2K7" title for PlayStation 2 to retailers. Separately, the company announced the release of the album soundtrack to its "NBA 2K7" game. Produced by Dan the Automator, the album on Decon Records and distributed by Caroline includes tracks featuring Fabolous, Mos Def and Ghostface.

Electronic Arts Details In-Game Soundtrack for "The Sims 2 Pets"

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts on Thursday announced the list of tracks that will comprise the in-game soundtrack to its "The Sims 2 Pets" title. In addition to theme and mode music composed by Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, the game will feature music from artists including The Flaming Lips, Hot Chip, Cut Copy and Something for Rockets. The game will ship to retailers on Oct. 17 for PlayStation 2, PSP, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, DS and the PC.

Pump Audio to Provide Free Soundtracks for One True Media Users

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of game publisher Take-Two Interactive, announced on Thursday that legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest will reunite to headline the first leg of its 2K Sports Bounce Tour, which will visit 15 cities in September and October.

2K Sports' "NHL 2K7" Game Soundtrack to Feature 12 Sub Pop Bands

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, announced on Wednesday that Sub Pop Records and other labels will provide tracks for its "NHL 2K7." Twelve Sub Pop artists -- including Band of Horses, Hot Hot Heat, Mudhoney, The Postal Service, Sleater-Kinney and The Constantines -- will be featured on the title's in-game soundtrack. 2K Sports' "NHL 2K7" is slated for release in September for Xbox 360, Xbox and PlayStation 2, with a PlayStation 3 version scheduled to ship by the end of the year.

Las Vegas - Sony Media Software on Monday introduced Cinescore, a $249 application that can automatically generate complete custom soundtracks featuring royalty-free music. A video producer selects a basic theme or mood, and then the application creates music that can be edited and shaped to fit the particular scene.
