Los Angeles - South Park
Studios and Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) Comedy Central have reached a deal with online DVD rental
service Netflix (NASD: NFLX), that will see the first nine seasons of "South Park"
made available for streaming via Netflix's subscription service, The New York
Times reported. The studio's own site that offers the same streams has counted
over 300 million views since last April. There was no talk of ad splits or
guarantees or advances, just a payment for a show Netflix seemed really happy
to have," Mr. Stone said. "We've never given the show to anybody else
to stream, but we like Netflix as a service. We use it."
Buzz Watch: No Internet in South Park? The Horror...Authored by Jay Baage on April 17, 2008 - 5:49am.
In case you missed it, last night’s South Park was all about an Internet “black out”. I caught it today, on the Internet, of course. Embedded above is a clip from the show's beta site South Park Studios. To watch the full episode click here. It's both clever and funny. Isn't it scary how dependent we have become on the Internet? Have The Simpsons Found a New Home on the Big Screen?Authored by Scott Goldberg on July 31, 2007 - 12:43pm.
It’s rare that Hollywood studios don’t respond to a box office hit with a sequel or two. For an industry whose audience is a moving target, the sequel is one of the safest bets. And following a weekend in which The Simpsons Movie beat all expectations, including those of the folks at 20th Century Fox, it stands to reason that a series which has seen declining TV ratings of late might have found a new home on the big screen. Take a closer look at the film and the strategy seems even more plausible.

Buzz Watch: South Park’s 11th Season Opens March 7Authored by Scott Goldberg on February 28, 2007 - 4:56pm.
What keeps fans returning to South Park is the seemingly bottomless well of shock humor the show’s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, come up with each year. South Park will begin its 11th season on Comedy Central March 7th, and as always, loyalists will tune in to see if the four crudely-drawn kids from Colorado can top themselves yet again.
