Portland, Ore. - SplashCast, a developer of social marketing applications, announced on Thursday that it has raised $4 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by Mark Bayliss with participation from Emergent.

Palm Desert, Calif. [DEMO 07] - SplashCast on Tuesday introduced its media syndication platform that lets users create streaming media programs that combine audio, video, music, photos, text and RSS feeds, at the DEMO 07 event in Palm Desert, Calif. Portland, Ore.-based SplashCast's user-generated streaming media programs can be broadcast live on any website, social network page or blog that subscribes to a user's channel. The free service is now available in an open beta trial.
