Rainbow Media Expands Video-on-Demand Services

New York - Rainbow Media on Tuesday announced an expansion of the video-on-demand services it offers to cable and satellite TV providers. The operator of networks including IFC, AMC, Fuse and We said it has adopted the "Skool" brand across its VOD properties. The company also renamed its Mag Rack service "Lifeskool," and launched a new service called Musicskool that will offer music lessons and instruction. Rainbow said its Sportskool service is now available in over 22 million U.S. homes.

New York - Sportskool, a unit of Rainbow Media that develops sports-related video-on-demand and DVD programming, announced on Thursday that it has partnered with rapper Chuck D (Public Enemy) and And 1 streetball star Wailyy "Main Event" Dixon to create a streetball instructional VOD program. Shot on location at Behagen Park in the Bronx, the streetball VOD program launched today on Sportskool, which is available on cable systems including Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision and Charter.
