Tokyo - Japanese video game publisher Square Enix said on Friday that it has made a bid for a majority stake in struggling fellow game publisher Tecmo, in a deal valued at about $102 million.

London - Game publisher Square Enix on Tuesday released its "Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes" game for the iPod at the iTunes Store. The roleplaying game incorporates musical elements, and is available in English or Japanese for the iPod nano with video, iPod classic and fifth-generation iPod for $4.99.

Los Angeles - Japanese video game publisher Square Enix on Monday announced a slate of six upcoming titles, including a next-generation multiplatform roleplaying title called "The Last Remnant." Other games on deck from the publisher include "Star Ocean 1: First Departure"; "Star Ocean 2: Second Evolution"; "Star Ocean 4"; "Chocobo's Dungeon: Toki-Wasure no Meikyuu"; "Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System"; and two new installments in the "Final Fantasy Chronicles" series.

Viacom, a global entertainment content company, today announced the appointment of Kelly M. McAndrew as Vice President, Corporate Communications. McAndrew will serve as his deputy in managing the day-to-day activities of the company's corporate communications function. McAndrew will also oversee financial communications, working with Viacom's finance and investor relations departments and will be responsible for media relations related to legislative and regulatory issues.
