YouTube Co-Founder Chen Takes Position at Google

San Bruno, Calif. - YouTube co-founder and chief technology officer Steve Chen has stepped down to take an unspecified position at parent company Google (NASD: GOOG), All Things D reported. "Steve shifted his focus to help with some Google engineering projects. He's still involved with YouTube and invested in its success," YouTube spokesman Ricard Reyes told The Times' Bits Blog. Chen's holdings in YouTube, which was acquired by Google for $1.65 billion, reportedly were worth more than $326 million in February 2007.

BitTorrent President Steps Down To Form New Venture With YouTube Co-Founder

San Francisco - BitTorrent Co-Founder Ashwin Navin is stepping down as President to focus on a new tech incubator he is launching along with a few other high-profile tech entrepreneurs. According to a note Ashwin sent out yesterday, he has partnered with YouTube's Steve Chen, MySpace's Aber Whitcomb and HotOrNot's Jim Young and purchased a small building in the Mission District of San Francisco where they intend to build "a physical environment conducive to innovation, collaboration and company formation."

"Even Google can't get it right. I'm hoping that the founders of YouTube Chad Hurley and Steve Chen realize that they may be subtle geniuses insofar as ease-of-use is concerned. I want to see more from these two, no matter what happens to YouTube."
