Los Angeles - Steven Spielberg is working on a social network that will connect people who have had paranormal or extraterrestrial experiences, or who are interested in sharing such information, TechCrunch reported. The report goes on to chronicle Spielberg's connections with the subject, including films ("E.T.," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Poltergeist") and anecdotes about more personal experiences. Sources told TechCrunch that the project, initially but no longer associated with Yahoo, is currently in development by a team in Los Angeles and is slated to launch in the coming months. Los Angeles - Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS) announced on Wednesday that the first game developed in collaboration with director and producer Steven Spielberg, "Boom Blox," is now slated for release in May for the Nintendo Wii. The casual-style game features over 300 levels, and allows players to remix levels and post their creations for others to play via WiiConnect24. EA said a version of the game is also in production for mobile phones, and will be available in the spring. Los Angeles - Electronic Arts on Tuesday provided some details of two games it is developing in collaboration with director Steven Spielberg, one an action puzzle game for the Nintendo Wii, and the other an action-adventure title for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Reuters reported. EA Los Angeles general manager Neil Young said that the first title was inspired by Spielberg's meeting with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto at the E3 conference last year, while the latter, code-named "LMNO," "focuses on a relationship between the player and a non-playing character." Redwood City, Calif. - Video game publisher Electronic Arts said on Friday that Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg has signed a deal to help develop three new original game franchises for the company. Under the deal, Spielberg will work with EA's development teams in Los Angeles to led his ideas to the concept, design, story and artistic visualization of the new games. I have been playing EA games for years and have watched them master the interactive format," said Steven Spielberg. "Having watched the game industry grow from a niche into a major creative force in entertainment, I have a great deal of respect for EA's understanding of the interactive format EA will own the intellectual properties and publish and distribute the titles. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. EA's Los Angeles studio has developed such popular game franchises as Medal of Honor, Command & Conquer and The Lord of the Rings.
