BrainMedia Introduces Mobile Music, Video Delivery Technology

New York - BrainMedia on Wednesday introduced its music and video delivery platform for mobile devices, which is slated to go live in North America next month. Built for Qualcomm's BREW, the service will initially feature music discovery and full-track downloads, eventually expanding to include community features, dynamic radio generation and delivery of streaming and video content. New York-based BrainMedia's service is based on its Neural Encoding Model (NEM) codec, which the company says creates near CD-quality audio for ultra low bit-rate mobile distribution.

Bones in Motion Launches Mobile Fitness Application for Qualcomm's BREW

Austin, Texas - Bones in Motion, a provider of fitness-related, subscription-based mobile applications, on Wednesday announced the launch of its BiM Active service for Qualcomm's BREW platform. The application allows runners, cyclists and walkers to wirelessly capture and monitor their activity on GPS-enabled devices. Data is then automatically uploaded to a personal online journal so users can chart their progress.

San Diego - U.K. video game publisher Codemasters announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with Qualcomm to develop mobile games for the company's BREW platform for cell phones.

San Diego - Wireless developer Qualcomm on Thursday introduced its BREW Signature Solution for Gaming. The set of features for wireless service providers includes the ability to provide publisher and franchise-specific micro-stores; game-based themes throughout the handset; game purchases via websites and retail cards; and in-game micro-transactions.

Vivendi Universal Games Mobile to Develop for Qualcomm's BREW Platform

Los Angeles - Vivendi Universal Games Mobile said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to develop titles for Qualcomm's BREW platform for mobile phones. Los Angeles-based VU Games currently offers mobile game titles through 70 mobile network operators in 40 countries.
