Yahoo, Telemundo Agree to Terminate Joint Venture

Los Angeles - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) and NBC Universal's (NYSE: GE) Spanish-language network Telemundo have agreed to terminate their joint venture website, Yahoo Telemundo, by the end of the year, Mediaweek reports.

Yahoo Telemundo Launches Online Short Film Contest

Miami - Yahoo Telemundo, a partnership between the Internet portal and Spanish-language broadcaster, on Wednesday announced the launch of an online short film festival. Sponsored by the Toyota Yaris, the Yahoo Telemundo Short Film Festival will seek film submissions from Hispanic filmmakers in both English and Spanish on Yahoo Telemundo Cine, the companies' online movie channel. Online voting will run through Oct. 20, with the most popular shorts to be aired on both Telemundo and mun2.

Yahoo, NBC Universal, Telemundo Create Yahoo Telemundo Portal

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Yahoo announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with NBC Universal Television Group and Telemundo, to combine their U.S. Hispanic Internet properties to create a co-branded Internet business. Yahoo Telemundo will integrate Yahoo services with Telemundo content, and replace the existing Yahoo en espanol and Telemundo websites. Under the deal, Yahoo and Telemundo will merge staff and share advertising revenue.
