Tokyo -- Japanese consumer electronics firm Hitachi on Wednesday introduced the industry's first digital video recorder to feature a terabyte (1,000 GB) of storage capacity -- enough to handle 128 hours of high-definition video. Hitachi will also release 160GB, 250GB and 500GB models, which along with the terabyte model will all additionally feature a DVD recorder. Hitachi will sell the 160GB recorder for about $1,180 in Japan beginning next month, while the terabyte model will be priced at $2,080.
