OurChart.com to Host Web Premiere of Showtime's "The L Word"

Los Angeles - OurChart.com, a social networking site for lesbians, announced on Thursday that it will host an exclusive online premiere of the fifth season of Showtime Networks' original series "The L Word" on Dec. 30, a week before its broadcast premiere. Los Angeles-based OurChart.com, which was founded by former RIAA head Hilary Rosen, is a joint venture with Showtime parent company CBS (NYSE: CBS).

New York - CBS Corporation's Showtime Networks on Monday announced plans to launch a virtual reality area for its "The L Word" cable TV series within the virtual world "Second Life." Showtime partnered with The Electric Sheep Company to develop the various aspects of the 3D environment, which include a virtual dance club, and virtual amphitheater where Second Life users will be able to screen select episodes of The L Word.

San Francisco - Gay media company PlanetOut said on Thursday that it has partnered with Showtime Networks, to launch co-branded online personals for fans of Showtime's "The L Word."

Showtime, FanLib Partner on "The L Word" Fan Script Collaboration

Los Angeles - Showtime Networks on Wednesday announced a collaborative writing event with fans of its "The L Word" series, encouraging them to submit original scenes based on a "scene mission" posted by one of the show's writers. The online community will then vote, with the most popular submission to be added to the script in progress. Showtime partnered with FanLib on the project; the company will produce an eZine featuring the collaborative script and other items that can be downloaded by fans.
