Moviegoers then receive a bar code sent to their phones, which can be scanned for entry at the theater.

Beverly Hills, Calif.-based RazorGator enables users to buy and sell tickets to events such as the Super Bowl, Final Four, Olympics, Kentucky Derby and Broadway shows. Distribution partners include Yahoo, MSN, Fox Sports, Tickets.com, Real Cities/Knight Ridder Digital and Associated Cities. RazorGator has also established partnerships with pro sports teams including the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks. The company will use the funds to expand and enhance its service, and foster relationships with additional sports teams, leagues and artists.

Houston -- Clear Channel Communications, one of the nation's largest concert promoters, announced on Monday that it will begin selling memberships to its GetAccess program -- which offers special ticketing deals on over 750 concerts it promotes annually -- through the EBay online auction service. Four-month memberships to GetAccess will be offered on EBay through both fixed-price fees and auctions, and will give purchasers access to buy one/get one free offers, skip-the-line benefits at general admission shows, pre-sale offers, savings on movie tickets and rentals, and theme park savings. Hollywood -- Fandango, a provider of online advance movie ticket sales and show time information, announced on Tuesday that it has secured $15.3 million in new funding from Technology Crossover Ventures, a $2.5 billion fund and provider of growth capital to technology companies. Other TCV portfolio companies include Expedia, Netflix and RealNetworks. Hollywood-based Fandango, which offers online movie ticketing at nearly 7,800 screens in 40 cities, said it will use the new funds to facilitate market expansion, extend alliances with movie studios and exhibitors, and develop and enhance new products and services.
