I just had to post this YouTube clip, not just because it's a dead-on spoof of a viral video seem by millions (Tom Cruise's leaked Scientology indoctrination video), but it's also very smart marketing for "Superhero Movie". It is hardly the first time a studio releases a sequence from an upcoming film online, but this one has the potential to be one of the most popular... (via NewTeeVee)

Thanks to a new unauthorized biography by Andrew Morton, Tom Cruise’s belief in Scientology has been the focus of many recent headlines. Last week, videos appeared online with Tom Cruise discussing his beliefs and work as a Scientologist, which quickly captured the interest of many Internet users. While the video was removed from YouTube and many websites, Gawker Media eventually hosted a copy which quickly translated into an increase in traffic from the curious public.

Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone wants to be friends with Tom Cruise again and says that he never fired him from Paramount to People Magazine: "What happened was, I just gave an interview to the Wall Street Journal. In the course of it, they asked me what was going on. I said, you know, he would no longer be in the lot. They treated that like I was firing him. I didn't fire him! I had nothing to do with it. But they treated it explosively. And I didn't like it."

After being disgracefully fired by Viacom and Paramount Pictures owner Sumner Redstone this summer, Tom Cruise and producing partner Paula Wagner return as new part-owners and studio heads at United Artists, a film studio that was formed by a group of Hollywood actors, including Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford.

The announcement was made earlier today by Harry E. Sloan, CEO of MGM, the company that used to control United Artists. He stated that Cruise and Wagner will have "substantial ownership" of the revitalized banner and have nearly complete control—budget permitting—over greenlighting and developing new productions, but did not specify financial terms. Cruise and Wagner had previously announced that they had secured financing from two unidentified hedge funds to back future projects.

Today, he finally let the world see his and Katie Holmes’ baby daughter Suri, the world’s most anticipated baby photo, shot by top celeb photographer Annie Leibovitz on the cover of classy magazine Vanity Fair.
