TomTom Bringing Turn-by-Turn Navigation to iPhone 3G

San Francisco - TomTom, a maker of GPS navigation devices, has announced plans to release a car kit for Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone 3G which, combined with a new TomTom iPhone application, will provide spoken turn-by-turn directions. The as-yet-unpriced kit, which is set for release this summer, includes an iPhone cradle that mounts on the windshield and doubles as a charger.

TomTom Adds Navtones Celebrity Voices to GPS Navigation Devices

Concord, Mass. - TomTom, a maker of GPS portable navigation devices, announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement to offer Navtones, or downloadable celebrity voices that replace the generic voice that speaks turn-by-turn directions from the devices.
