L.A. Times Covers Music Biz Forecasts at Digital Music Forum

Los Angeles - The Los Angeles Times reported from our Digital Music Forum West event in Hollywood on Tuesday, focusing on music industry data presented by NPD Group, BigChampagne and Topspin. "Analysts speaking at Digital Music Forum West in Hollywood this afternoon suggested that there's more pain ahead for the industry -- much more. On the other hand, they said it's not necessarily a bad time for artists, and things couldn't be better for fans," the Times' Jon Healey reported.

INgrooves, Topspin Partner for Digital Music Marketing

San Francisco - INgrooves, a provider of digital distribution, marketing and promotional services for independent musicians, on Tuesday announced a partnership with Topspin, a direct-to-fan marketing, management and distribution platform. The deal will see Topspin provide its marketing platform to INgrooves artists and labels on an enterprise basis. The Crystal Method is the first INgrooves act to launch a promotion via Topspin, in the form of a contest in connection with a track from the band provided for the soundtrack of "X Games 3D: The Movie."

Berklee to Offer Online Course on Topspin Marketing Platform

Austin, Texas - Topspin, the provider of a Web-based, direct-to-fan music marketing, management and distribution platform, said on Wednesday that is collaborating with Boston's Berklee College of Music to develop online music courses that will teach effective use of the Topspin platform. The first such course, aimed at artists, managers and labels, is set to debut in September.
