New York - TouchTunes, a provider of Internet-connected digital jukeboxes in bars and restaurants, said on Monday that it has named former Bertelesmann Music Group president and COO Charles Goldstuck as its new chief executive. Goldstuck replaces Bill Meder, who will remain chairman of TouchTunes.

Digital Jukebox Firm TouchTunes to Go Public in Merger Deal

New York - TouchTunes, the operator of a network of Internet-connected digital jukeboxes in bars and restaurants, announced on Tuesday that it has merged with Victory Acquisition Corp. in a deal that includes 33 million shares of Victory stock, an the assumption of $40 million in net debt.

New York - Interscope/Geffen recording artist Beck will preview his new album "Modern Guilt" via 10,000 Internet-connected digital jukeboxes on TouchTunes' nationwide network a week before its official release on July 8. Meanwhile, fans who pre-order the album from Apple's iTunes Store are being made eligible to participate in a special concert ticket presale for Beck's upcoming tour, in conjunction with Ticketmaster.

New York - TouchTunes, a maker of Internet-connected digital jukeboxes found in bars and restaurants, said on Monday that it will offer a preview of Columbia Records artist Wyclef Jean's forthcoming album, "The Carnival II (Memoirs of an Immigrant)" on 15,000 of its jukeboxes a week before the album's physical release on Dec. 4.

TouchTunes Debuts Portable Device; Acquires Game Studio

New York - TouchTunes, a maker of Internet-connected digital jukeboxes, on Monday introduced TouchTunes PlayPorTT, a new portable, wireless game and music system for bars, restaurants and retailers. The company also announced its acquisition of White Rabbit Game Studio, creators of the PlayPorTT, for an undisclosed sum. The portable devices will allow patrons to wirelessly select music, as well as play a range of classic games, popular licensed titles and exclusive new games.

Lake Zurich, Ill. - TouchTunes, a maker of digital jukeboxes for bars and restaurants, announced on Tuesday that it has signed an 18-month agreement with music industry publication Billboard, to add current Billboard music charts to its digital jukeboxes. Using an interactive touch screen, patrons will be able to select and play songs directly from the charts.

Las Vegas - TouchTunes, a manufacturer of digital music-based jukeboxes found in bars and restaurants, announced on Friday that its shareholders have approved its proposed one-to-2,000 reverse stock split, geared towards its intention to take the company private. TouchTunes shares had been trading on the Nasdaq's OTC Bulletin Board service.

Ecast, TouchTunes Settle Digital Jukebox Patent Litigation

San Francisco -- Ecast and TouchTunes, two makers of digital music jukeboxes placed in bars and restaurants, announced on Thursday that they have agreed to settle outstanding patent infringement suits filed against one another. Under the terms, San Francisco-based Ecast agreed to pay Las Vegas-based TouchTunes a total of $4 million. The companies also agreed to cross-license each other's technology. Both companies offer products that download MP3 files over the Internet in order to update jukebox selections, unlike CD-based jukeboxes that rely on traveling reps to physically install new CDs in each jukebox in operation.

ASCAP, BMI License Digital Jukebox Firms TouchTunes, Ecast

New York -- Performing rights organization ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) announced on Thursday that it has reached licensing agreements with digital jukebox manufacturers TouchTunes and Ecast, covering the rights to perform music from ASCAP members on their jukeboxes in bars and restaurants. Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed. Under the deals, ASCAP will receive detailed reporting information from both companies on which songs are played on their jukeboxes, in order to accurately compensate artists for their works. Separately, San Francisco-based Ecast said it has also secured a licensing agreement with the other large performing rights organization in the U.S., BMI (Broadcast Music International).

TouchTunes Wins 'Net Jukebox Patent Ruling Against Rival Ecast

Las Vegas -- TouchTunes, a manufacturer of Internet-connected digital jukeboxes found in bars and restaurants, announced on Friday that a federal court granted summary judgment to its claim that rival Ecast is infringing on TouchTunes' technology with its own digital jukeboxes. Both companies' jukeboxes download music in MP3 form over the Internet to an internal hard drive, rather than rotating a physical library of CDs. TouchTunes is now seeking an injunction against Ecast to prevent further infringement, as well as monetary damages, with these issues expected to go to trial in early 2004.

'Net-Connected Jukebox Firm TouchTunes to Become Private Company

Las Vegas -- TouchTunes, a provider of Internet-connected jukeboxes that play MP3 files for patrons in bars and restaurants, announced on Wednesday that its board of directors has approved a reverse stock split that will effectively take the company private. The company will pay shareholders $0.50 per share before the reverse stock split is effected, after which the company's shares will be delisted from the Nasdaq. Las Vegas-based TouchTunes said it made the decision to take the company private because of "the direct and indirect costs to TouchTunes of remaining a publicly traded company outweighed the benefits to its stockholders of doing so."
