New York - CBS (NYSE: CBS) has asserted that it is "well within its
rights" to stream content from the Hulu joint venture between News Corp. (NYSE: NWS)
and NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) on its own TV.com website, responding to Hulu's assertion
that contractual rights led to the removal of Hulu content from TV.com. "CBS
Interactive is well within its rights to stream Hulu video content on TV.com
under its agreement with Hulu. We are evaluating our next steps at this
time," the company said in a statement.

New York - CBS Interactive (NYSE: CBS) is set to relaunch the TV.com website it acquired through its $1.8 billion purchase of CNET Networks last year, PaidContent reports. The site currently plays host to discussions and information on some 19,000 TV shows, and attracts over 16 million unique monthly visitors. San Francisco -- CNET Networks on Thursday launched TV.com, an online community site for TV show enthusiasts built from the foundation of TVTome, a site with 3.5 million users that CNET acquired by in January. TV.com will offer detailed information on specific episodes of TV shows, in addition to series backgrounds, news and photos, and will enable fans to contribute their opinions through message boards and reviews areas. "TV.com brings our brand of engaging interactive content environments to people who love specific TV shows enough to learn more about them, contribute their knowledge and opinions, and meet others who share their interests," said CNET chairman and CEO Shelby Bonnie. CNET also operates GameSpot.com for video game enthusiasts, and MP3.com for music artists and their fans. The company expects the new TV site to attract a wider range of advertisers, specifically TV networks and marketers looking to target specific shows' audiences.
