USOpen.org Serves Up 6.4 Million Video Streams in Week One

New York - The U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) reports that its USOpen.org attracted 5.3 million unique users during its first week of live streaming video coverage of the tournament, up 60% from a year ago, PaidContent reported.

USTA to Stream Most of U.S. Open Live Online

Los Angeles - The USTA announced on Monday that it will offer live online streaming of the majority of matches from the upcoming U.S. Open tennis tournament. More than 150 matches, comprising over 300 hours of live tennis, from broadcasters including ESPN2 and Tennis Channel, will be available -- complete with announcer commentary, picture-in-picture viewing, commenting and other features.

ESPN Buys Cable TV, Digital Rights to US Open Tennis

Los Angeles - The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced on Monday a new deal with ESPN (NYSE: DIS) for the cable TV broadcast and digital rights to the US Open grand slam tennis tournament, ending its 25-year deal with USA Network. The six-year pact, which begins in 2009 and was worth nearly $140, according to the Wall Street Journal, will see ESPN offer 200 hours of US Open coverage. ESPN will also offer live feeds on the ESPN360 broadband service, comprehensive coverage on ESPN.com, and various content on ESPN Mobile.
