Mobile Media Delivery Firm uVuMobile Names New CEO

Atlanta - uVuMobile, a provider of technology for delivering video and audio content to mobile handsets, has named Scott Hughes as its president and CEO. Prior to joining uVuMobile in 2001, Hughes was director of network and security consulting services at RTP, a Seattle-based consulting group.

Mobile Video Firm SmartVideo Exploring Strategic Options

Atlanta - SmartVideo Technologies, a provider of technology for delivering video to mobile devices that does business as uVuMobile, has announced that it is exploring strategic options and is seeking an investment banker. Atlanta-based SmartVideo's mobile video service offers content from providers including ABC, NBC Universal, Fox Sports and Discovery. "We are currently in negotiations with potential partners regarding a strategic investment in a range of $2-$5 million to support, among other things, further development and deployment of our proprietary mobile platform," said David Ross, the company's president and interim CEO.

UVuMobile Introduces Mobile Media Delivery Technology

Atlanta - UVuMobile, a developer of mobile broadcast technologies, on Tuesday announced the beta launch of its Mobilecasting platform that delivers interactive audio and video to mobile devices. The company also said it partnered with Skyward Mobile to develop uVuRadio, a mobile subscription service that will deliver major market and nationally syndicated radio programming to cell phones and other devices. The service supports the ability to instant message with radio hosts; mobile commerce; real-time voting; chat and advertising.
