London - Major record label EMI Music on Tuesday announced that it has partnered with Chicago-based digital music marketing agency VerveLife, on a promotion that will give away EMI artist song downloads free of digital rights management (DRM) to Burger King customers in the U.K. Unique codes included on Burger King products will lead consumers to a microsite where they may browse, sample and download a pre-paid track. "EMI's recent decision to drop DRM has had a hugely positive impact on our potential to collaborate with brands in order to offer consumers downloads that they can play across all digital music players," said Barney Wragg, global head of digital for EMI.
