San Francisco - Creative Commons, the nonprofit that advocates for less-restrictive copyright license terms, has found itself the target of a lawsuit, after a photo of a 16-year-old posted to Flickr under a Creative Commons license found its way into a Virgin Mobile ad campaign.

Chicago - Vibes Media, a provider of interactive text messaging and mobile content marketing programs, said on Tuesday that mobile virtual network operator Virgin Mobile USA will use its services for mobile messaging. Virgin Mobile will use Chicago-based Vibes' technology to create promotional programs using SMS, MMS, games and other mobile content like ringtones.

Virgin Mobile USA Extends Mobile Content Deal With MTV Networks

Warren, N.J. - Wireless network operator Virgin Mobile USA said on Monday that it has extended its partnership with MTV Networks, and will provide additional exclusive mobile content from MTV and Comedy Central. Under the deal, Virgin Mobile USA will become the exclusive carrier for "Total Request Live" and "Direct Effect" branded mobile content, and will continue to offer non-exclusive mobile content from other programs like "The Daily Show."

Virgin Mobile to Launch Kyocera Slider Sonic Music Phone

Warren, N.J. - Following the recent introduction of new music phone models from Motorola and Nokia, wireless carrier Virgin Mobile on Tuesday announced the Slider Sonic phone from manufacturer Kyocera Wireless as the first music phone it will offer to subscribers. Available in October, the $249 Slider Sonic comes with 32MB of memory (upgradeable to 512MB), a video recorder and digital still camera. The phone will also be embedded with music videos from Seether and Submersed, AOL's AIM software, and links to mobile content from Virgin partners MTV and Comedy Central.
