Virgin Mobile USA to Acquire Helio for $39 Million in Stock

Warren, N.J. - Virgin Mobile USA, the wireless telecom services provider, has signed a deal to acquire Helio, a wireless services joint venture between EarthLink (NASD: ELNK) and SK Telecom, for about $39 million in Virgin Mobile stock. Helio has about 170,000 existing subscribers with an average revenue per user of about $80, and a handset inventory of about 85,000 units with a book value of about $17 million.

Los Angeles - Virgin Mobile USA on Wednesday announced a ringtone promotion with fast food chain Burger King and Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG), to create a "Virgin Mobile Ringtone Value Menu" that will offer a selection of ringtones for just $1 each. Artists whose songs are included in the promotion include Flo Rida, Mana, Buckcherry, Estelle and War.

Los Angeles - Japanese video game publisher Capcom Interactive announced on Thursday an agreement with mobile network operator Virgin Mobile USA, to act as the sole aggregator and manager of WAP game titles on its network. Titles offered on the Games Lite channel include "Shade," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and "Dope Warz."

Warren, N.J. - Wireless carrier Virgin Mobile USA announced on Wednesday that it partnered with Warner Music Group to offer exclusive ringtones and wallpapers from Bad Boy Records artist Boyz N Da Hood. The deal includes 11 exclusive ringtones from the hip-hop artist's self-titled album, in addition to three wallpapers, which will be available exclusively to Virgin Mobile USA subscribers through Oct. 31.
