Narrowstep, a broadband television services firm, announced that it has appointed Lisa VanPatten to the position of Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately, replacing Jill Thoerle, who served as the company's interim CFO since July. VanPatten will report directly to David C. McCourt who recently assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and interim CEO of Narrowstep. Atlanta - ViTrue, the developer of a user-created advertising platform, announced on Tuesday that it has secured a round of strategic funding from Comcast Interactive Capital and Turner Broadcasting. The amount of the investment was not provided. Previous investors included General Catalyst Partners and ViTrue's founder and CEO, Reggie Bradford. The Atlanta-based company's system provides tools for consumers to create, produce and upload video advertisements, as well as the infrastructure to help companies align the content with their marketing campaigns.

Atlanta - Vitrue, a developer of user-created online advertising technology, announced on Monday that it has raised $2.2 million in its first round of venture capital financing. Investors included General Catalyst Partners and Vitrue founder Reggie Bradford, the former president of Tandberg Television and CEO of N2 Broadband. The company also said it has acquired Sharkle.com, an online video-sharing community that claims 100,000 registered users. Atlanta-based Vitrue's applications and services allow consumers to create their own video advertisements for free and manage their brand assets; an ad rating system will also allow users to vote for the most compelling ads on the site.
