Kanye West Winning the Album Battle with 50 Cent

50 Cent said he would retire if Kanye West's new album outsells hisTwo rap superstars went head-to-head yesterday, separating from the catfights surrounding the VMAs and talking with their new albums, which were released on the same day.  West’s album Graduation sold 437,000 copies in its first day compared to 310,000 for 50 Cent’s Curtis, according to a new “Building Chart” created by Nielsen SoundScan.

Britney Spears’ long-time fans were looking forward to her come-back performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards yesterday. Many music biz executives from her label Jive were probably also watching to see if she “still has it.” In short, I’m sorry to say, the answers seems to be no. MTV Confirms Britney Spears VMA Performance

This is what happens when Britney performs at the VMAsHere’s a quick reason to watch MTV’s Video Music Awards on September 9: Britney Spears will perform the new single Gimme More, and her mere presence virtually guarantees something absurd is going to happen.  Speculation about the song’s legitimacy came into question when it was “leaked” last week after playing on Z100 in New York.  But everyone knew better.  “It’s Britney, bitch,” she told us.  Yes it is.
