Buzz Watch: The BlackBerry 9000 - an iPhone Killer?

Yes, Research in Motion (NSDQ: RIMM) is trying to jazz up it's popular email cell phone, the BlackBerry, (read our previous coverage here) and rumors are that the new 9000 model will be sexy enough to take on Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone. As the funny financial web video show Wallstrip notes in the episode embedded above, if the company succeeds in making the new Blackberry appeal to both business as well as "regular" consumers, it may be a stock to keep an eye on. But then again, it is very hard to try to be everything to everybody...

The host Lindsay Campbell points out how well the company's stock is doing, although it has dipped a little lately, and asks the ultimate gadget geek question: Are you a touchscreen or a clickwheel man?

Interesting topics include what niche of the television market that Joost is going after, his views on television advertising and, of course, piracy. The CBS/Wallstrip Deal and the Relationship Between Old and New Media

CBS recently acquired the stock market video blog Wallstrip for an undisclosed amount (the rumor on the street is $5 million). The Wallstrip team made this spot-on video about the deal. No doubt CBS is moving in the right direction towards embracing new media, but it is a big ship to turn.
