Digimarc Licenses Watermarking Tech to Thomson for Digital Cinema

Beaverton, Ore. - Digimarc, a developer of digital watermarking technology, announced on Monday that French video equipment maker Thomson has licensed its technology for use in digital cinema, forensic tracking of pre-release movies, and authentication of video content. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Thomson provides equipment and technology to movie studios, broadcasters and other content owners and distributors.

Digimarc Licenses Anti-piracy Watermarking Tech to Cinea

Beaverton, Ore. - Digimarc, a developer of digital watermarking technology, announced on Thursday that it has signed a multi-year patent licensing agreement with Cinea, a unit of Dolby Laboratories that provides anti-piracy technologies to the film and TV industries. Under the deal, Cinea will be able to offer Digimarc's forensic tracking, which can trace the source of an unauthorized leak of video content to its source file through inaudible digital watermarking.

Audible Magic Licenses Activated Content Watermarking Tech

Los Gatos, Calif. - Audible Magic, a developer of "audio fingerprinting" peer-to-peer file-sharing network filtering technology, announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with Activated Content Corporation, to license the company's watermarking technology. The service from Activated Content will add protection for pre-release music, film and other media content, giving copyright holders the ability to trace leaked works back to their pre-release production sources.
