The cast of Gossip GirlsThe CW, a television network combining Warner Bros, The WB, and CBS’s UPN, is making noise this fall with a lineup featuring the much-discussed Gossip Girl, an OC-meets-Cruel Intentions show based on the lives of New York’s young and rich, and Reaper, about a kid whose parents sold his soul to the devil, from the writer/director of Clerks, Kevin Smith.

In an effort to keep viewers from skipping ads - whether they flee the room or use their TiVo - the CW network is introducing a new forum for sponsors called "content wraps." These spots are supposed to be more entertaining and less repetitive than the usual 30-second spot.

Cingular Subscribers to Decide Plot of WB's "One Tree Hill" via Text Messages

Las Vegas - Cingular Wireless said on Wednesday that it partnered with The WB on a feature that will let viewers determine the plotline of an upcoming episode of "One Tree Hill" with their mobile phones. Cingular partnered with mobile messaging firm Air2Web to enable viewers to send text-messages to network-initiated plot questions, with responses to be tallied and reflected in the outcome of the following week's episode.

WB Offers Uncut Version of Censored Episode of "The Bedford Diaries" Online

Los Angeles - The premiere episode of a new WB series that saw some racy scenes edited from the broadcast will be offered in an uncut streaming version on the WB's website, Reuters reported. The uncensored version of "The Bedford Diaries" includes scenes where two female college students kiss, and one unzips her pants. Series executive producer Julie Martin said the WB decided to cut the scenes, despite their having passed network censors, in light of the FCC's recent affirmation of $3.6 million in fines for indecent broadcasts including the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident. "Out of an abundance of caution, we decided to make some additional changes to the premiere episode," the WB told Reuters.

AOL to Air WB Pilot Online Before Broadcast Premiere

Dulles, Va.-- Marking the first time that a network program will air in its entirety online before its broadcast premiere, America Online said on Monday that The WB and Warner Bros. Television will team up with AOL Television to offer an advanced sneak preview of the new series, "Jack & Bobby," to AOL for Broadband subscribers. In the first week of the two-week promotion, kicking off in late August, AOL's broadband and dial-up subscribers will be able to watch an extended trailer of the show. The following week, AOL's broadband subscribers will be able to view the entire pilot episode. The show, follows the life of a single mother raising two sons, one of whom becomes the President of the United States.
