Fairfax, Va. - TrafficLand, an aggregator of live traffic video, said on Wednesday that it has partnered withWeatherBug, a provider of online weather information services, to exchange traffic video and weather information between the two companies. Starting on Wednesday, TrafficLand's network video will be available through both WeatherBug's website and desktop application for more than 32 major markets, including DC, New York and Atlanta. Similarly, WeatherBug's localized weather information will be available through TrafficLand's site.

WeatherBug, a provider of web-based local weather information services, said that it has promoted Mike Lombardi to the role of Vice President of National Sales. Lombardi had served as the company's Vice President of East Coast and Inside Sales since 2005. He will be based in WeatherBug's New York City office.

AWS Service Lets Gamers Choose Among Sponsors for Game Ads

Germantown, Md. - AWS Convergence Technologies, creators of the WeatherBug desktop weather application, announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its Sponsor Select program to game publishers, enabling gamers to control the advertisers they'd like to see before their game begins. Maryland-based AWS has been using Sponsor Select with its WeatherBug application since 2001, and said online game publisher Big Fish Games is among its first game industry partners for the service. Advertisers will pay only when they are selected by users.

WeatherBug to Offer Mobile Forecasts on BlackBerry Devices

Germantown, Md. - WeatherBug, a provider of live, neighborhood-level weather information services, said on Monday that it has partnered with mobile content provider Handango to deliver the WeatherBug Mobile service to users of BlackBerry wireless devices.

WeatherBug Raises $23 Million in Venture Capital

Gaithersburg, Md. -- WeatherBug, which runs one of the most popular Internet-based weather applications, announced on Thursday that its parent company, AWS Convergence Technologies, has secured $23 million in financing. Investors in the round included Sequoia Capital and Polaris Ventures -- both new investors -- as well as HarbourVest, the lead investor in the company's initial financing. Last week, WeatherBug, which provides localized weather information, announced a partnership with AOL Instant Messenger to launch an integrated service.
