Santa Monica, Calif. - KCRW, the Southern California public radio station, has announced that it will webcast the first U.S. live performance in nearly three decades from singer/songwriter Yusuf -- formerly known at Cat Stevens.

CNBC Debuts Redesigned Website with Live Webcasts

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. - Financial news network CNBC on Monday debuted a new version of its CNBC.com website. New features include streaming live and on-demand videos throughout the site, produced both from a new all-digital studio in New Jersey, and by CNBC bureaus in Singapore, London and other regions. The site will air 3-8 hours of live CNBC programming daily, as well as a live webcast -- "Market in a Minute" -- at the top and bottom of each hour during the business day. A subscription offering will include live, real-time streams of CNBC's U.S., Europe and Asia feeds for $9.95 per month.

AOL Music Debuts "The DL," Plans My Chemical Romance Webcast

New York - AOL Music on Thursday announced the launch of "The DL," a Web-based video music program hosted by comic Sara Schaefer that will offer coverage of pop culture, music, news and the blogosphere. Separately, AOL Music said that it will offer a live webcast of a My Chemical Romance concert on Halloween night from the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The concert will also be archived for on-demand viewing.

Ben Folds to Play First MySpace Live Webcast, Chat Live in Second Life

New York - Sony BMG/Epic Records artist Ben Folds will perform the first live webcast offered by online social network MySpace next week, to promote the release of his new album on Oct. 24. The performance will be streamed from Folds' MySpace page, and the artist will be taking requests via MySpace's instant messenger feature.

MSN to Webcast Live Concerts from Control Room

Los Angeles - Control Room (formerly Network LIVE), a provider of live digital entertainment and producer of the Live 8 concerts, announced on Wednesday a distribution agreement with Microsoft's MSN. Under the multi-year deal, MSN will exclusively distribute Control Room's slate of live music programming on MSN, and also through other Microsoft platforms like Xbox Live and MSN Messenger. Initial live concerts offered by Control Room via MSN will include performances from John Legend and John Mayer.

Concert.TV Gets Webcast Rights to U.K. Music Show "Later With Jools Holland"

New York - Concert.TV, an online TV network that shows live music performances and documentaries, announced on Monday that it has signed a licensing agreement with Northstar Media to add all 221 episodes of the British music show "Later With Jools Holland" to its service. Beginning in October, Concert.TV will each month feature an updated offering from the show's archive of performances by artists including Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, R.E.M., Sigur Ros, Cat Power and Gnarls Barkley.

AT&T to Stream Live Webcasts of Lollapalooza

San Antonio, Texas - AT&T announced on Tuesday that it will provide live daily webcasts of performances from the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago this week. The company's AT&T Blue Room feature will stream live performances from artists including Wilco, Sleater-Kinney and Ryan Adams. Blue Room will also offer a 24-hour streaming radio station featuring interviews and performances from past and present Lollapalooza artists.

BBC to Offer Live Webcasts of World Cup Matches to Britons

London - The BBC announced this week that it has signed a deal allowing it to broadcast all World Cup soccer games live on the Internet in the U.K. The broadband webcasts, which also include four-minute highlight videos of the matches, will be restricted to U.K. residents who pay the BBC's license fee.
