Wii Fit, Nintendo’s popular video game, is currently the most searched-for product by UK Internet shoppers in the run-up to Christmas. During October there were more UK Internet searches for Wii Fit than the Nintendo Wii, the most popular product last Christmas. After Wii Fit and the Wii console, the third most searched-for gadget is the Apple iPhone.

Redmond, Wash. - Nintendo on Monday announced the U.S. launch of "Wii Fit," its fitness-based suite of games for the Wii console that comes with the new Wii Balance Board accessory. The $90 bundle, which has already sold more than 2 million copies in Japan, is set to go on sale from U.S. retailers on Wednesday.

Today, May 19th, is the official launch for the much talked about Nintendo Wii Fit. It’s been a big success in Japan, but is American ready to leave the couch and embrace so called "exergaming"? I think the answer is both yes and no. The Nintendo Wii’s groundbreaking controllers pioneered a new wave of what I call “off-couch” gaming and the success of video games such as “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band” has solidified that trend on other game consoles. But just how much fun the the Wii Fit?

Electronic Arts Debuts 'EA Sports Freestyle', Plans Wii Fit Title

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts has launched a new sub-brand, EA Sports Freestyle, which will target what it says is the growing casual sports games audience. The label will publish at least three new games in the next 12 months, including an arcade-style boxing game called "FaceBreaker," and a title for Wii Fit, the new balance board accessory for the Nintendo Wii.

Tokyo - Sales of video game hardware and software rose 10% to an all-time high of $6.3 billion in 2007, propelled by Nintendo's Wii and DS devices, according to data compiled by Japanese game magazine publisher Enterbrain, the Associated Press reported.
