- Will Wright, the creative force behind the wildly popular "Sims"
video game franchise, is resigning from Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS) after 12 years to focus
on his entertainment think tank, Stupid Fun Club, Reuters reported.

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS) announced on Wednesday that it will ship "Spore," the highly-anticipated title from its Maxis studio and "Sims" creator Will Wright, on September 7 for the PC, Mac, Nintendo DS and mobile phones. Wired.com on Wednesday posted an interview with Wright, in which he details such features as an automatic music generator he created with Brian Eno for the game, that will both use algorithms and such to generate unique musical themes for different settings, and let players create their own themes for their surroundings. London - The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced that Will Wright, creator of "SimCity" and "The Sims," will be the first game industry recipient of a BAFTA Fellowship, the academy's highest honor.
