MySpace Adds Indies Nettwerk, INgrooves to Music Service

Los Angeles - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace online social network announced on Thursday the addition of a number of independent music distributors to its nascent MySpace Music service. The deals with Nettwerk Music Group, INgrooves, IRIS Distribution and RoyaltyShare, along with Wind-up Records, will add several hundred thousand songs to the catalog available on MySpace Music.

Wind-Up Records Taps Airborne Entertainment for Mobile Distribution

New York - Mobile entertainment publisher Airborne Entertainment, a unit of Cybird Co., said on Monday that it has signed a deal to create and distribute ringtones, ringback tones and full-track downloads for Wind-Up Records. The label's artist roster includes Creed and Evanescence.

Indie Label Wind-up Records Licenses Music Videos to YouTube

New York - Independent record label Wind-up Records (Evanescence, Creed, Seether) on Tuesday announced a marketing partnership with Google's YouTube that will make music videos from its artists available on the video-sharing site. The deal will also enable fans to use pre-cleared tracks from Wind-up artists in their own video mashup creations posted to the site. YouTube and Wind-up will share ad revenue sold around Wind-up content.
