to gambling website PartyGaming for $12.3 million.

Los Angeles - News Corp.'s MySpace on Tuesday announced a partnership with the World Poker Tour, to create an online poker section on the social network. The MySpace WPT hub offers a free multiplayer poker game developed by Oberon, as well as the opportunity to joint the $19.95 per month ClubWPT.com, which offers VIP perks and $100,000 in cash and prizes monthly. In addition, MySpace WPT will feature expert tips and tricks, player profiles, video clips and tournament news from the World Poker Tour. Los Angeles - WPT Enterprises, operators of the World Poker Tour, on Wednesday announced the launch of a Web-based poker education center and online community. The WPT Academy includes video tutorials hosted by poker pros, and a hand search engine and simulator called Handsim that lets users search the database for players, hole card values, card combinations, odds percentages and other data. The database contains over 1,700 final table hands from 13 World Poker Tour tournaments, and allows users to follow play-by-play recaps of top players like Scotty Nguyen, Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth. Los Angeles-based WPT said that its WPT Academy will initially be offered for free to subscribers, and did not provide details on future subscription fees.

Los Angeles - WPT Enterprises announced on Tuesday that it has licensed its World Poker Tour brand to London-based 3G-Scene, for use in a mobile gambling service. A multiplayer mobile phone version of "Texas Hold'em," which allows players to wager real money against other live players, is currently available from several U.K. wireless carriers.

Los Angeles - WPT Enterprises announced on Monday that it plans to launch an online social network for online poker players through its World Poker Tour website. The company partnered with Chipleaders, an existing online social network for poker players, to develop a service that lets players create an online profile, upload photos, communicate with other poker players and schedule events.

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of Take-Two Interactive, on Tuesday shipped its "World Poker Tour" title for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo Game Boy Advance to retailers. The game features World Poker Tour TV announcers Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, in addition to pro players including Antonio "the Magician" Esfandiari and Phil "Unabomber" Laak. Separately, Take-Two's 2K Games unit said it shipped "Shattered Union" for Xbox and the PC. Developed by Take-Two's Pop Top Software studio, the game features both online and off-line multiplayer support on both platforms.

Los Angeles -- WPT Enterprises, producers of the "World Poker Tour" TV series, announced on Tuesday that it has won copyright and trademark infringement claims against a number of television and Internet properties. "WPTE has taken action in these cases and secured agreeable settlements and/or court-ordered injunctive relief in order to avoid confusion among poker players, to prevent the proliferation of unauthorized 'knock-off' merchandise, and to protect against the dilution of and harm to its valuable copyrighted material, trademarks and strong brand," said Robert S. Gerber, attorney for WPTE. The actions were taken against defendants including the "Ultimate Poker Challenge" TV show; World Poker Productions instructional videos; a website offering WPT episodes for download on the BitTorrent peer-to-peer network; several domain name infringers; and a number of companies offering tournaments falsely billed as WPT satellite events. WPT's flagship "World Poker Tour" TV series airs in the U.S. on the Travel Channel, and is syndicated in over 100 other global markets.
