WorldWinner Extends Skill-Based Online Games Deal with AOL

Toronto, Canada - FUN Technologies announced on Thursday that its WorldWinner unit has renewed an agreement with AOL, to provide skill-based cash and prize tournaments on AOL Games and Games.com. Under the deal, Toronto-based WorldWinner will develop a co-branded site where AOL players can compete against each other, and others in the WorldWinner network in games like "Scrabble," "Luxor" and "Bejeweled 2."

Newton, Mass. - SkillJam, a Los Angeles-based provider of "skill-gaming" technology and unit of FUN Technologies, has acquired WorldWinner.com, a Massachusetts-based online game company, for $23 million. WorldWinner.com hosts more than 10 million games and awards millions of dollars in prizes every month, with games in five categories: cards, words, arcade, strategy and sports. Last year, the company had revenue of $10.67 million, a loss of $680,000 million and net assets of $3.9 million, the company said.

WorldWinner to Offer "Wheel of Fortune" Online for Cash Prizes

Newton, Mass. - WorldWinner, a provider of online game competitions, said on Wednesday that it partnered with Sony Pictures Digital to launch online cash competitions for its "Wheel of Fortune" online game. The cash competitions will be available on WorldWinner.com and also through partners Pogo, Lycos, Shockwave, Yahoo, Facebook.com and NetZero.
