The Zelda franchise is among Nintendo's most popular, while the DS has outsold all other video game hardware for the past several consecutive months. San Francisco - CNET Networks' GameSpot on Monday announced its editors' picks for the Most Wanted Games of 2007, which include anticipated franchise favorites like "Halo 3," "Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" and "Half-Life 2: Episode Two." Other titles making GameSpot's list were "BioShock" (2K Games); "Crackdown" (Microsoft Game Studios); "God of War II" (SCEA); "Spore" (Electronic Arts); and "Super Mario Galaxy" (Nintendo). Redmond, Wash. -- Nintendo of America on Tuesday announced a $20 price reduction for its Nintendo DS handheld, which will now sell for $129. The company added that it plans to release "Nintendogs," its virtual pet game that has sold 700,000 units in Japan since its launch, in the U.S. on Aug. 22. Other upcoming releases on the dual-screen DS this year include "Advance Wars: Dual Strike" (Aug. 22); "Trace Memory" (Sept. 26); "Metroid Prime Pinball" (Oct. 24); and "Mario & Luigi 2," set for release in some time in the fourth quarter. Nintendo will also launch a Wi-Fi wireless gaming service for the DS later this year. Meanwhile, the company also confirmed that it will delay the release of its anticipated "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" title for the GameCube from Christmas until some time in 2006.

Redmond, Wash. -- Nintendo of America announced on Friday that it has shipped over 800,000 of its new Game Boy Advance SP handheld game devices to North American retailers, and that its "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" title for GameCube, which sold 600,000 copies through pre-orders, will likely soon sell through its initial shipment of 1.1 million units. The company said that since it began taking pre-orders for the new Zelda title, which launched on March 24, GameCube console sales experienced a 20 percent increase. Additionally, Nintendo said that it shipped 2.2 million units of its "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" Game Boy Advance titles in North America; the Pokemon games have already sold over 4 million units in Japan.
