The company will also now be known as Vindigo, which was the name of the firm that Zingy merged with in 2005. Jensen was previously senior vice president and head of business development for Zingy. By pressing the "Locate Me" button within the MovieGoer mobile application, Sprint subscribers with compatible phones will be alerted to the nearest movie theaters through GPS technology, rather than having to enter their zip code or address.

Under the deal, New York-based Zingy will create wallpapers, voice ringtones and other mobile content based on films including the "Godfather" trilogy, "Airplane," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."

New York -- Mobile entertainment publisher Zingy announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Vindigo, a provider of mobile city guides. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Both companies are subsidiaries of Japan-based For-Side.com, which recently announced plans for a public offering of shares in the U.S. New York-based Zingy's library of ringtones, wallpapers and other mobile content is distributed by nearly 30 wireless carriers worldwide. The addition of Vindigo will add city guides, photo sharing and information from providers including The New York Times and MapQuest to its offering.
