Azureus Debuts Vuze P2P TV Service with BBC, Showtime Programs

Palo Alto, Calif. - Azureus, the provider of a file-sharing program that uses the BitTorrent protocol, on Thursday announced the launch of Vuze (formerly codenamed Zudeo), a peer-to-peer service that will deliver high-definition programming from providers including the BBC and Showtime Networks.

Azureus P2P Service Signs National Geographic to Provide Video

Palo Alto, Calif. - Azureus, a provider of peer-to-peer file-sharing software based on BitTorrent, announced on Monday a partnership with National Geographic Ventures (NGV) to offer short- and long-form programming on its network. Under the deal, NGV will initially offer video content to U.K. users of the Zudeo service, with a North American launch to follow shortly. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Azureus, which claims 140 million downloads of its file-sharing software, has also signed BBC Worldwide, Bennett Media Worldwide and Starz Media to provide content on Zudeo.

Starz Media to Distribute Video on Azureus P2P Network

Palo Alto, Calif. - Azureus, a BitTorrent-based peer-to-peer file-sharing application, announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with Liberty Media's Starz, to distribute Starz video content on its Zudeo file-sharing network.

Palo Alto, Calif. - File-sharing software developer Azureus announced on Tuesday an agreement with BBC Worldwide, to offer BBC TV shows for download by U.S. users on its peer-to-peer service.
